Performance comparison

We ran Geekbench CPU benchmarks against several cloud hosting and managed WordPress providers, versus a mid-tier dedicated server from OVH with an AMD EPYC processor. The results are not even close.

FAQs

What servers are supported?

We support any server that runs an up-to-date version of Ubuntu or Debian Linux. Our preferred dedicated server vendors are: OVH, Hetzner, Cherry Servers and Servers.com, but you can bring your own, as long as our team can reach it over the Internet.

What about caching?

We'll recommend a configuration that we think will be the best fit your application. This includes CDN, page caching, object caching, etc. However, you are free to run any caching plugin or solution you like, including Redis, Memcached and Varnish.

Do you do backups?

Configuring a solid backup strategy is part of our initial setup, as well as ongoing maintenance. We can ship backups to another server, a storage cluster, storage services (Amazon S3, etc.). We also provide means for full and partial backup restoration and point-in-time database recovery.

How many PHP workers can I have?

We'll make a recommendation on the best settings for your hardware configuration, however, if you need more, we'll be more than happy to adjust. This includes not only the PHP workers, but also the memory limit, max execution time, upload file size and other settings typically limited on shared environments.

Do you configure failover and HA?

Our standard service is for a single dedicated server. We typically configure software RAID for the entire system for data redundancy. Highly-available and fault-tolerant architectures are not included in our standard service and are available at an additional setup and monthly cost.

What we do not do. We do not do website design and development and other general agency work, including redesigns or rebuilds. We don't do CMS migrations. We don't do marketing, social, SEO or any of those other spiritual practices. We don't do CSS/JS/React and other types of frontend work. We do not manage general-purpose servers and services outside of a WordPress application/platform scope. We do not manage Microsoft Windows/IIS/Hyper-V based systems.

Pricing

$199 setup fee

We typically charge a setup fee per server, which may vary depending on your configuration. This usually covers the initial OS and software setup, backups, monitoring, malware scanning, CI/CD pipeline configuration if needed, service right-sizing (Redis, MySQL/MariaDB), and migration for one site. We may waive this fee for long-term commitments.

$199 monthly fee

The monthly management fee includes general server maintenance (software updates and patches), basic monitoring, ad-hoc configuration (like adding a website, domain or database), fine-tuning and basic troubleshooting.

Infrastructure & SLA

We are not an infrastructure provider. Hardware costs are paid separately to the infrastructure provider of your choice. While we can help you select a provider and configuration, we are not responsible for any hardware failure, damages, downtime, data corruption, or loss caused by your infrastructure provider. As a server management company, we are happy to offer an SLA based on urgent ticket response times, but any downtime SLA must be arranged directly with your infrastructure vendor.
